Country 3: Czech Republic
Once we crossed the boarder in the Czech Republic, things became exciting. We passed many prostitutes standing in front of single room buildings, displaying their attributes to passerby’s hoping to make some money…
That was a new sight for me.
Praque was another city where I could not find myself on the map. But finally we managed, more out of luck than skill, to find our campsite.
The architecture in Prague was unique from all other cities that we visited, in that it is continuously multistory buildings of similar nature- except for specific buildings very few stood out from another. But those that did stand out were fantastic. We attempted to find the palace by following the tourist signs- but to no avail: they were rather confusing. We did, however, walk up this large hill in the middle of the city trying to find it. We were rewarded with a nice cold beer at the top.
On the top of this hill we found a viewing tower that was a to-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower. This replica was first built in 1891, three years after the Eiffel Tower. We walked up the 300 stairs of this tower and in total walked up a vertical height of 200m, the view, however, was fantastic.
Also occurringthat day over the river was the Redbull Flying Contest. We had hoped to watch it but when we arrived, the swarms of people that we had to maneuver through just to see the river, especially in the heat, was too much to handle and we decided to go back to the campsite.
