Micke Frick
I would like to introduce to you...Micke Frick...the new guy in my life. He is 25 and works for the Swedish Army as an Explosives Engineer. We originally met in November when he was back in Sweden for a week vacation. In March he came back from Libiera where he was stationed for a few months. Now he lives in the south of Sweden, coming on home on weekends.

Mom and Dad came for a visit
My folks decided to stop by for a visit on their way to England and France. They were here for four days and I enjoyed having them here.
Over the weekend, along with Micke, we drove through Norway, around the Trondheimfjorden. The views were much better than my previous trip to Norway- the grass was green and lush but the weather sucked! Within 12 hours we saw sunshine, clouds, black clouds, wind, rain, snow and hail.
We started out by driving the three hours to Trondheim, having lunch and visiting the cathedral- which closed 10 minutes after we had arrived.
Off we went to the fjord and crossed it with the local ferry. We drove and drove and drove- looking for a hytte (cabin to stay in for the night) and things were looking rather grim as the ones we came across were booked (suprisingly because we were out of season and this was not expected). As well, my sense of planning is rather broad- alittle too broad for some people: I had just located afew hyttes and not actually booked because I was unsure of the actual route and time.
Finally around 18:00 we found an open cabin; we jumped on the opportunity and rented it- although it was alittle small for four people. But after abit of wine and some good food everyone was happy again.
The next morning we began driving again- had to turn around afew times because my navigation skills are as specific as my planning skills- rather broad. I became interested in other things (like taking pictures) which meant we missed afew turns- no problem though (I thought anyways) we are driving through Norway: lets drive (especially considering I am not the one driving, although I did offer)!
The Norwegian roads are very narrow and windy, makes you feel alittle claustrophobic at times, especially when making a sharp turn around a corner to find another car coming in the opposite directions.
We took the back way home from Norway and found ourselfs in the Swedish mountains above the treeline with lots of snow on the ground and as we descended, the trees became bigger and the snow dissappeared. We stopped off at Tännforsen which is the Swedish version Niagra Falls, although much smaller. During winter time there is an igloo dug into the ice formations underneath the falls where you can spend the night-next winter, if the opportunity presents itself I might give that a try.
Finally we arrived home, which was a nice feeling. Went out for dinner and then turned in early.
Monday consisted of errands, shopping, sightseeing, etc. I wanted to show Mom and Dad the Jämtli Museum, which has viking and nature exhibitions- but unfortunately it was closed.
So...
All in all it was a great tourist vacation:
good weather
good sightseeing
good museums
great times
I was glad to have them.
