Weekend in Oppdal, Norway

Last weekend after an exam I ventured out to Norway to spend a relaxing weekend in a cabin in the mountains with some school friends. There were five of us, Oscar and his girlfriend Ida, Roger, his girlfriend Helena and myself.

The mountains were beautiful, although the weekend was stormy and cloudy so the pictures don't do the view justice.



On Friday we went cross country skiing in the deep snow, where there was no tracks. I have never ski'd without tracks so I found this alittle difficult- I fell- alot, and everyone laughed, including myself. There were times that I could not get up because of the deep snow and my inability to maneuver on skiis and had to get Roger and\or Oscar to help me, but not before they took some pictures for blackmailing purposes (as soon as I get a copy I will post them). Lots of fun.




And then finally I chose the easiest way up the hill- logic came into play. Why fight a hill on slippery skis when I can just walk up?

Saturday I spend indoors relaxing while everyone else went downhill skiing- I felt that I should take it easy due to a healing fractured rib. The falling from the previous day did not help the healing process, although it was not painful; the only thing that I found painful was using the ski poles.


Oscar and Ida own a pair of sled dogs and so on Sunday we ventured out to some cross country ski tracks with the dogs. After dawning on the harness I went for a ride. I was abit nervous being pulled on skis, knowing how much I fell on Friday but after realizing how controllable the dogs were and how aware they were of you, I relaxed and enjoyed the ride.

On Monday I left for Student Ski Week in Vemdalan Sweden: which ended up to be 4 days of skiing and partying. It was a blast. Unfortunately no pictures were taken.

Well I guess it is time to return to school----
